Here are three different sculptural pieces that I found when we are able to go out on our own for the last three hours of the field trip. One I was able to identify a name to them but the other two I couldn't find a name or if there was I must have missed it. But what drew me to each one of these was the shapes. The Bronze statue with its flowing shapes along with the red one and then finally the more metal and jungle gym looking one of the pieces. There were different shapes incorporated in the shapes of all the bars and they reminded me of children playing on a playground. The red statue with the color gives me a little bit more of a chaotic feeling and with the shapes that it has while the bronze statue with the blue and gentle curves give me a more calm and flowing feeling. As for the jungle gym it gives more a more playful sense and discovery kind of feeling to it. I don't think I've really seen anything like these things before so they were rather cool and nice to see.

The elements and principles of design that I saw in these works are a quite a few. There's line and texture, value and space. The shapes that are made. There is also unity and movement and most definitely emphasis on the pieces that are made by the students at MIAD. These pieces attracted me because these are some of the things that catch my interest and attract me. I like dragons, I like video games and over all fantasy or mechanical, steampunk, sci-fi or whatever kinds of themes. I like them all and these three pieces and more drew my attention because of it. For the dragon piece I think the strongest piece of the work is the way that it is set up. The way the dragons are facing each other and set a bit off centered and the negative space between them. For the angel looking piece I think the strongest part is the whole design. The different lines and designs go well and each bit of detail and intricate. For the third piece I think the strongest part is the lighting. The lighting helps to set it all off with how dramatic it is behind him. It shows him off and gives something like a sense of dominance and power. I don't think I can say anything really that is least effective about these pieces. For the media that was used it seems like the first two pieces are made out of watercolor and ink pen and the third one is definitely a digitally drawn piece. All of the pieces didn't have specific names that I could see but all were made by students of MIAD.
